ZAG
From shifting line to carved line.
Manufacture of culture
Ski brands live and die by identity. Without clear cultural territory, equipment becomes a list of specifications, athletes become faces on billboards. Zag lacked the editorial voice that transforms a manufacturer into a cultural entity. When new leadership arrived, we stepped in to trace the line the brand had never drawn.
R&D becomes authorship
We turned research and development into editorial. Each ski’s shape became a craft story worth telling. Art direction grew from the technical language of camber and rocker, edge and flex. Athletes became authors narrating the practice from the snow. The brand moved from selling equipment to writing culture.
Workshop as lexicon
We embedded with the brand. In the workshop with the shapers. On the snow with the athletes. This immersion in the craft produced an aesthetic and editorial line to trace forward. The transformation became visible where it matters. A growing community of core skiers who recognize Zag as theirs.
