The prototype principle

Raide Research carries a method in its name. For the UTMB, the American label wanted research and development to take on a physical dimension. In Chamonix, we answered with a radical shop-in-shop, laid out like a lab. The prototyping of each product comes into full view, stripped down to its elemental form.

Design laid bare

Bare aluminum sets the tone, stark under synthetic fiber panels that diffuse a streamlined light. Each product faces its prototype, on custom-built racks and table. Laser-engraved thermoplastic boards trace its evolution. The latest version and its earlier iterations share one surface, where the process becomes legible.

Retail as system

The space hosted the brand activation and the content it generated around an idiosyncratic experience that places products beside their prototypes. The structure then broke down into a modular retail tool, ready for its next field test across Europe. Wherever it stands, research lies at the core of every sale.
